Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about using MedAssist for Doctors, Pharmacists, Labs, and Administrators.

General & Access

MedAssist is available as a web application (accessible via any modern browser), a native Windows Desktop application, and an Android mobile app. All platforms sync in real-time.
If you've forgotten your password, click the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page. Enter your registered email address to receive a password reset link.
Yes, MedAssist employs industry-standard encryption for data storage and transmission. We comply with Indian Telemedicine Practice Guidelines and relevant data privacy laws.
Access is role-based. Hospitals are registered by Platform Admins, and Hospital Admins then create accounts for Doctors, Pharmacists, and Lab Assistants. Patients can also be registered to track their history.

Doctor's Dashboard

MedAssist uses advanced AI models to analyze patient symptoms and history. You can chat with the AI, and it will suggest potential diagnoses and treatments. However, you (the doctor) always have the final say and must verify all recommendations before finalizing a prescription.
Absolutely. The AI generates a draft prescription based on the consultation. You can add, remove, or modify medicines, dosages, and advice in the Prescription Editor before generating the final PDF.
In the chat interface, click the paperclip icon or "Upload Report" button to upload PDF or image files. Click "Analyze Lab Reports" to have the AI summarize findings and flag abnormalities automatically.
The Intake Form is a quick way to capture patient vitals (Name, Age, Gender) and chief complaints before starting the detailed consultation. It helps structure the initial data for the AI.

Pharmacy Management

Go to the "Dispense" section. You can search for a patient's prescription by ID or name. The system will check stock availability for the prescribed medicines. You can then select batches and complete the sale.
If a prescribed brand is unavailable, the system allows you to search for substitutes with the same composition (salt). You can also dispense a partial quantity if needed.
Navigate to "Inventory" > "Purchases" to add new stock entries. You can record batch numbers, expiry dates, and supplier details here.
If you are assigned to multiple pharmacy units within a hospital, you can switch contexts. However, inventory is typically managed per pharmacy unit.

Lab Operations

In the Lab Dashboard, find the patient's test request. You can upload the result files (PDF/Images) directly. These become instantly available to the Doctor.
Yes, the Lab module supports creating templates for common tests (e.g., CBC, Lipid Profile) to speed up data entry and report generation.

Administration

As a Hospital Admin, go to "Users" in the sidebar. Click "Add User", fill in their details, and assign the appropriate role (Doctor, Pharmacist, Lab Assistant).
AI configuration is managed centrally to ensure consistency. However, you can view the active AI model and system status in the dashboard footer.
The Hospital Dashboard provides a summary of daily consultations, patients treated, and active staff. Detailed reports are available under the "Reports" section.
